Our 2017-18 season opened with our 9th annual Membership Tip-Off meeting on Wednesday, November 1. In addition to meeting the players, hearing from the Coach, watching practice, this season's attendees were among the first to get a first hand tour of the Breslin Students Events Center renovations including the new "Tom Izzo" Hall of History. This year we will again have six luncheons throughout the season and may add another exciting new event. In addition, we will help with the annual Food Drive chaired by Lupe Izzo and intend to again co-sponsor Pep Rallies at Post Season Tournaments.
Other than the December 8th Luncheon which will be at Hawk Hollow, all of the other Luncheons will be at Eagle Eye Golf Club on Chandler Road in Bath. Doors open at 10:45 am, and the program starts at 11:50 am and lasts to 1:00 pm. In addition to Coach Izzo or one of our assistant coaches, each luncheon features a guest speaker. Luncheons are open to both members and the general public, particularly if you bleed green. Memberships are always available at the door. No reservations are needed.
Our second luncheon of the 2017-18 season will be held on Thursday, December 7th at Hawk Hollow. This luncheon will give staff an opportunity to update us on the status of players and the team as it approaches a 5 of their next 6 games at Breslin and the game with Oakland at Little Caesars in Detroit. This meeting is always a memorable luncheon and special holiday treat.
Our third luncheon of the 2017-18 season will be held on Friday, January 5th at Eagle Eye. This is the luncheon leading up to the Annual Food Drive on Saturday, January 13th and it will be special. Our coaches will update everyone on the status of our players and the team as they begin a 3 game Big-Ten road stand. As always this is an excellent opportunity to support our Men's Basketball program and socialize with fellow Spartans.
Lupe Izzo again will lead a team of volunteers at our annual Food Drive to benefit the MSU and Greater Lansing Food Banks on Saturday, January 13th as we take on the Michigan Wolverines. Last season we set a record collecting 1302 non-perishable goods and $18,039.69 in cash donations surpassing the previous record set in 2016 of $16,717.90. Our goal this season is to set yet another new record in donations. As always 100% of everything donated at the food drives goes directly to these two organizations. Lupe and the Club ask for your generous support of our community families.
Our fourth luncheon of the 2017-18 season will be held on Wednesday, January 24th at Eagle Eye. Coaches will assess the Big Ten Championship race and where we stand in achieving that goal. It will be a great afternoon for Spartans to get together.View Details

The date for the 2018 MSU Men's Basketball Banquet honoring this season's incredible group of players and their accomplishments has not been determined. With the Big Ten Tournament being a week early this season most likely the Banquet will be held sometime between Thursday, March 8th and Sunday, March 11th. Whatever day this event takes place the attendees will be greeted to one of the most emotional events of the season as the players received their awards and recognition. It is anticipated that Spartan Sports Radio will again broadcast the Tom Izzo Radio Show live from the event. We will update this page as soon as we know a final date.
Our 9th Annual Membership Tip-Off was held on Wednesday, November 1st in the Breslin Student Events Center. One of the Club's most popular events allowed the Club's new and returning members and their guests an up close look behind the scenes of MSU Men's Basketball.
Loyal Spartans this season will had an opportunity to watch practice, have a Spartan photo taken, tour the recently completed Breslin Center renovations including the new "Tom Izzo" Hall of History and hear from our Hall of Fame Coach. In addition, members and their guests were able to meet, take pictures of and get autographs from their favorite players including another great set of freshman. It was an exciting evening and a great tip-off to the upcoming season of MSU Basketball.
The Club's Board is already planning next season's event.
Our first luncheon of the 2017-18 season was held on Thursday, November 16th at Eagle Eye. Coach Izzo gave an update on the team as they return from the Duke game at the Championship Classic in Chicago and preview the upcoming PK80 Phil Knight Invitational in Portland. The luncheons are always a great time to socialize with fellow Spartans and attendance was well over 200.
